Last invitation rounds for this Migration Year

The two invitation rounds scheduled for 3 June and 17 June 2013 will be the last SkillSelect invitation rounds for the 2012-2013 Migration Year.

On 1 July 2013, the new migration year will commence, resetting occupation ceiling caps and also introducing the annually revised Consolidated Skilled Occupation List.

The two invitation rounds scheduled for June 2013 will result in a combined total of up to 2000 invitations.  Prospective independent migrants must receive an invitation from DIAC before they can lodge their SkillSelect visa applications.  On invitation, they have 60 days to submit a valid application for consideration.

The May 2013 invitation round results are provided below.  The second May invitation round did not result in all available places being filled with only 794 of the available 925 invitations being issued in the Skilled – Independent visa category.

A number of occupation groups have also reached their annual occupation ceiling.  These are

  • Chemical and Materials Engineers
  • ICT Business & System Analysts
  • Electronic Engineers
  • Telecommunications Engineering Professionals
  • Other Engineering Professionals
  • Software and Application Programmers.

EOIs for these occupations will not be considered in the June invitation rounds.  However, they can still be considered under Employer Sponsored and Business Innovation and Investment categories.  Occupation ceilings will be reset for the 2013-2014 migration year which commences on 1 July 2013.
