NSW State Sponsorship closed after 1000 applications were received on 14 July 2014.
The NSW State Government has announced that sponsorship applications are temporarily closed because 1000 applications have been received.
Those who were unable to complete the online application process for the first intake of 2014 will now need to wait for a future intake, according to information published by NSW Migration Services.
Those who were able to submit an application will have their applications assessed in the next 12 weeks. An invitation to apply for a visa cannot be issued until the NSW State Sponsorship application is successful.
Alternative options
There are alternative options to seeking NSW State Sponsorship. These include:
- Seek sponsorship from another state/territory of Australia
- Seek employer sponsorship
- Independent migration through points-tested SkillSelect Visas
